Pediatric Sedation

Gentle sedation options help children feel calm, comfortable, and secure while receiving the dental care they need.

Pediatric Sedation: We offer safe, gentle sedation options to help children feel calm, comfortable, and confident while receiving the dental care they need. Learn more about our nitrous oxide and IV sedation options, which are carefully selected with your child’s safety, comfort, and individual needs in mind.

For IV sedation, we partner with a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist who provides specialized anesthesia care and monitoring throughout the procedure. Learn more about Dr. Michael Sroka and his dedication to providing safe, compassionate anesthesia care for children.

We are committed to choosing the most conservative treatment options available for your child and utilizing minimally invasive approaches whenever possible. Our goal is always to provide the right care at the right time while prioritizing prevention, comfort, and your child’s overall well-being.

In some situations, sedation may be recommended to help your child safely receive the dental care they need. When sedation is needed, your child’s safety, comfort, and individual needs remain our highest priorities.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Laughing gas, also known as nitrous oxide, is a safe and gentle method used during dental procedures to help children feel more relaxed and comfortable. Your child will remain awake, responsive, and able to communicate throughout the appointment while enjoying a calmer dental experience.

Parents are always welcome to be part of their child’s visit and may sit comfortably in the treatment room with us. We believe having a familiar face nearby helps create a positive, supportive, and stress-free experience.

Prior to your appointment, our team will provide you with pre-operative instructions specific to your child’s procedure to help ensure a safe, comfortable, and successful visit.

Intravenous "IV" Sedation

When nitrous oxide is not the best, most effective, or safest option to complete your child’s dental treatment, we offer in-office IV sedation with a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist. This allows us to provide specialized anesthesia care while prioritizing your child’s comfort, safety, and individual needs.

Our office partners with Pediatric Dental Anesthesia Associates (PDAA) to provide comprehensive anesthesia services. Together, we will provide you with the information needed to make a confident, informed decision about your child’s care and sedation options.
